Oh, it sure was nice to sleep in at the motel and get a leisurely 8:30 start today. The first SAG stop was at a bakery. While we were enjoying yet another day of stress-free riding there was a reminder posted in the women's room that life is just not that easy from many people. Note how many of the emergency phone tags were taken.
For us, the day just kept getting better. The second stop was in the boyhood home of Ray Charles.
We were only riding 48 miles today o were able to get into our destination town, Madison, FL and the North Florida Community College gym. The town has several Victorian era homes. After lunch, and of course, ice cream we toured the town - John by bike and Claudia and I by foot.
Although it was a short riding day John needed a nap. No reason not to sleep on the clean laundry.
This evening Ms Pritchard came and spoke. She's 87 and was a childhood friend of Ray Charles. Quite a determined lady herself. She went back to school at 29, after having 5 kids and earned her associates, bachelors and masters.
