The Great Adventure Day 31

Yesterday was one of the nicest rides ever. 89 miles of great roads, rolling hills, acres of wild flowers and good mid 50's temperatures. First SAG was hosted by Gene at a local park in a little town. Several years ago when Bubba's group came through the bike mechanic, Chandler, fixed his bike. Since then, he's been fixing coffee for the SAG stop. Just what we needed on a chilly morning. Lunch was set up at the original site of Baylor College, now a historic park. We past through several small towns. There was a statue of Frank Hamer, THE roll model for law enforcement officers. He is also the one who shot Bonnie and Clyde. More poignant was the Civil War soldier monument tucked away in the courtyard between 2 abandoned buildings in one dying little town. Our destination was reached about 4:00. Mexican Hill Ranch. Bubba discovered Ernie and his ranch several years ago. Since then he's added amenities each year to accommodate touring bicyclists and other campers.

Enjoy the flower pictures and longer than usual video. The day was just too beautiful to reduce it to 4 pictures and 3 minutes of video.
