From the worst campsite imaginable last night in Marfa to one of the better ones tonight in Marathon. The day in between was one of the best too.
We stopped by the court house in Marfa. Great example of Italianate style.
This part of Texas is full of low mountains. I was surprised by the beautiful scenery.
First stop was the artsy town of Alpine. Our route sheet suggested that we stop at a particular cafe for to-die-for cinnamon rolls. We were not disappointed.
After the snack and coffee we encountered smooth roads, upper 60's temp, a good tail wind and lots of downhill. What a ride.
Tomorrow we're off the bikes. All of the riders have at least one body part that is grateful for the day out of the saddle. We're taking a field trip to Big Bend National Park.
